West Midlands based European Heathyards have strengthened their manufacturing capabilities with the installation of a 360° spiral wound (CMT) weld overlay cladding machine.

The twin head, twin feed Fronius system will significantly increase productivity and turnaround times, whilst also giving European Heathyards a more competitive advantage due to greater efficiencies.

The spatter-free material transfer process delivers optimum results of less than 1% iron (Fe) dilution.

With Brexit uncertainty set to bring its fair share of challenges for UK businesses over the coming months the introduction of a new cold metal transfer (CMT) welding system represents a significant investment for European Heathyards.

Opportunities afforded by the weakening £pound continues to provide a platform for European Heathyards to expand. Overseas export of goods overseas to the power generation and waste to energy sectors that will result in a significant increase in staff and revenue over the next 12 months.

A sustainable growth curve is also predicted for 2020/21 and beyond with the planned development of a new manufacturing unit to service an order book for both new and existing customers that currently delivers 160,000 capable man hours.

Speaking of the ambitious expansion plans European Heathyards Operations Director Craig Nash commented “The next few years will be an exciting phase in European Heathyards development as we strive to improve our manufacturing efficiency and strengthen our customer base across a number of growing sectors.”

European Heathyards are industry leaders in high integrity fabrication, welding & tube manipulation and are accredited to ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001, BS EN 1090 pt. 2 (execution of steel structures) & ASME U,S,PP & R stamps.
