European Heathyards Secures Fit For Nuclear Manufacturing Status

 In Nuclear Manufacturing

West Midlands based European Heathyards have joined a select group of SME’s to achieve ready to supply status through the Fit for Nuclear (F4N) programme.

F4N is geared towards helping UK manufacturing companies seize opportunities within the UK’s rapidly developing £60bn civil nuclear new build programme. F4N launched five years ago and has been developed by the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC) with the support of its top tier industry partners.

In tandem with benchmarking its manufacturing capabilities against F4N, European Heathyards is also pre-qualified by Achilles UVDB (EDF Nuclear).

The past 12 months has also seen a purpose built 10,000 sq ft clean manufacturing facility built with secure biometric controlled restricted access to meet the justifiably stringent quality requirements of the nuclear industry. The fully sealed unit, which also includes office space and a bonded store, houses two 10 tonne overhead cranes.

The new facility is a pivotal step in advancing European Heathyards capabilities in the thriving Nuclear Sector according to Technical Director Arran Nash

“Adding another key market in which to secure new long term programmes of work caps a very successful period for the European Heathyards and is a testament to the hard work, skill and dedication of our workforce.”

“It demonstrates European Heathyards commitment to deliver large scale contracts to the highest industry standards in nuclear decommissioning and new power generation as the energy market undergoes significant change.”

The pressure vessel manufacturer is looking to create a significant number of new jobs over the next 12 months as it seeks to explore fabrication opportunities with new and existing customers working in the Nuclear and Petrochemical industries worldwide.

The integrity of European Heathyards manufacturing processes meet the stringent technical standards demanded by the American Society for Mechanical Engineers for ASME U Stamp (Boilers and Pressure Vessels), ASME S-stamp (Power boiler) ASME PP-stamp (Power piping) & ASME R-Stamp (Repairs and alterations).

In accordance with the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes of practice (BPVC) European Heathyards have manufactured and delivered twenty four ASME U Stamp pressure vessels for a global customer base that incorporates Australia, Russia and the USA.

They are also currently accredited to the globally recognised ISO 9001 ‘quality management system’, ISO 14001 ‘environmental management systems’ and BS OHSAS 18001 ‘occupational health and safety management’, BS EN 1090 ‘Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures’ and are working towards securing BS EN 3834-2 ‘Fusion welding of metallic materials” in Q4 of 2016.
